How does the Rosetta Stone® language learning method work?

The Rosetta Stone language learning program teaches you based on a method of instruction called “immersion”. It introduces language skills in a way that stimulates your brain’s natural language learning ability. Rosetta Stone provides the opportunity to develop all of your language skills-- listening, speaking, reading and writing, from the beginning. The program leads you through a carefully designed sequence that helps you build the language structure step-by-step. You begin to think in your new language from the very beginning-- the same way you learned your first language.

Does Rosetta Stone Homeschool let me track my student's progress?

Yes! That's one of the main differences between Rosetta Stone Homeschool and Personal Editions. Rosetta Stone Homeschool includes a Parent Administrative Tools feature that lets you see which exercises the student has attempted and completed, time spent on task, and their score.

How are the lessons constructed?

Rosetta Stone® Language Training is divided into units with lessons and focused activities. Core lessons will teach you your new language, while focused activities build skills and reinforce the language you've learned. There are four core lessons and a Milestone within one unit. There are four units per level.

Can I get a foreign-language credit for Rosetta Stone courses?

Many colleges require at least two years of high school-level foreign language study. Since Rosetta Stone Homeschool is not a school, it is not accredited, and cannot award credits. Check with your local school for your state's standards if you have concerns about credit transferability; however, many accredited schools and universities use Rosetta Stone and it is widely accepted.
